Some of the biggest names in Canadian music and dance will hit the stage in a stunning award-winning showcase of talent, including Jackie Richardson, Kellylee Evans, and dancer Shawn Byfield.

The concert will feature the premiere of an original Jazz suite performed by Archie Alleyne’s Evolution of Jazz Ensemble and influenced by the Duke Ellington Orchestra and the Cotton Club of the 1920s Harlem Renaissance era. The suite honours the legacy of “The 355” and the Black musicians who played there. “The 355” was the location of the Toronto Chapter of the United Negro Improvement Association Hall at 355 College Street in downtown Toronto, and was an important gathering place for Toronto’s Black community from the 1930s through the 1950s.
